Today is Lois Bienstock's 70th Birthday!!!

April 30, 2008, my mother's 70th Birthday, and we are celebrating!!! My mother is a woman who has inspired so many with her strength, generosity, and loving spirit. Twenty five years ago one could only have hoped that we would be celebrating her 70th birthday today. My mother, like myself, is a breast cancer survivor. Like so many women she has endured the myriad of mammography's, check ups, and nervewracking waiting to know that everything is OK.

Most important is that Lois Bienstock has never stopped focusing on Life. She expresses and experiences gratitude for every day, experience and opportunity. My Mom is also an example of the fact that women can survive breast cancer through medical care and a healthy and loving attitude.

So please join me in celebrating this glorious day, and the fact that IT IS POSSIBLE. Please join Trials for Dale in making that possibility more available for others. With love, gratitude, peace and Joy I give thanks for my wonderful Mother, Lois Bienstock. I love you Mom!!

Full Circle......Go Visit our Web Page at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

So you have an idea of something you want to do. You can visualize the reality of it as though it already exists. The reason for this is that it does. Trails for Dale is a great example. It started as a glimmer, a feeling, an impulse of something that would inevidably come to be. There are millions of details that have to work out. Did the idea have to be deferred until the details could be worked out? Quite the contrary, the details get worked out because of the existance and holding to the idea.

Here is the example, we started with an idea, and then one thing lead to another. The blog was created. A website was created at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation that links to the blog. And now you can link to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by going to: http://www.bcrfcure.org/part_comm_gr_trailsfordale.html

Kudos to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation!

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers world-wide. Additionally they seek to increase public awareness about good breast health.

Founded in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder, the BCRF has raised approximately $195 million−35 million of which was raised in 2007 alone. Over 85% of the monies raised by BCRF go to support clinical and genetic research at medical institutions across the globe. They also support the development
of world-wide awareness programs. BCRF funds those individuals conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help to lead to prevention and a cure.

In 2007, the BCRF awarded $32 million to 151 researchers across the United Stated, Canada, Europe, Israel and Latin America. Because of the high percentage of monies that go directly to research, the BCRF has received exceptional recognition from several organizations that monitor and provide comprehensive unbiased information on charities. The BCRF derives its funding primarily from corporate partnerships but they also welcome contributions from all those concerned with women’s health. They know that working together we can and will find
a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

The BCRF needs your support to help inch closer to the finish line.

More About Dale....The Neverending Story........

About Dale

Dale Burnes Golinski was born and raised in Georgia. She was a beautiful young woman who was accomplished in many areas. The most important thing in Dale’s life was her family -most especially her children. She adored both of them and often said her greatest wish was to be a good and loving mother. Dale had a profound respect for all living things. She had a mystical connection with animals. She also had a great love of beauty as evidenced by her home and her gardens which she fashioned into places of beauty and tranquility. Dale was an accomplished artist as well.

Perhaps the most remarkable quality Dale possessed was her concern for other people. She had the all too rare quality of extraordinary compassion and empathy for others. Additionally, she was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. Dale was first diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 36 years old. She boldly underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Instead of anger and complaint, Dale gave her support to those around her who suffered the pain and fear of her condition. Over the next thirteen years, Dale faced numerous metastases and
medical challenges. But Dale was not defined by her disease. Her beautiful spirit shone through in spite of it. We remember Dale as a woman of extraordinary strength and generosity of spirit and it is her remarkable courage that has inspired this undertaking that we have aptly called “Trails for Dale.” It is with great honor and pride that we share Dale’s story and ask for your support in the fight against breast cancer in her honor.

What is Trails for Dale?

The Journey

My name is Barbara Burnes Landry, and I am a breast cancer survivor. In the summer of 2007, I asked my husband for a motor scooter for my 50th birthday. He went to the local motorcycle shop in New Hampshire where we live, and found a scooter beautifully decorated with flowers. My experience in driving the scooter was wonderful, primarily due to the positive response I got from people. Because of the flowers and the “happy” ambiance of the scooter, people always smiled, gave the thumbs up, and just enjoyed seeing the bike. Seeing the happiness it brought truly inspired me, in fact, I have named the scooter “Joy.” Shortly after I got the scooter, my sister in law, Dale Burnes Golinski lost her thirteen-year battle with breast cancer, and passed away on August 9, 2007.

Dale was forty-nine years old and lived in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Jim, and her daughter Justine and son Matthew. When I returned from her funeral, I got back on my scooter
knowing Dale was right there with me. One day when I was riding with Dale, the idea struck me to ride my scooter from Amherst, New Hampshire to Atlanta, Georgia in Dale’s honor.

Dale’s example and courage have inspired me to carry out this vision with unwavering commitment. I am joined and supported by my family members who will accompany me
and participate in this event. It is our plan to leave Amherst, NH on July 17, 2008 and
arrive in Atlanta, GA on August 9, 2008 (the one-year anniversary of Dale’s death). We have named the journey “Trails for Dale.” We intend to travel primarily through back
roads, going from town to town to tell Dale’s story, and garner support for breast cancer research. We will blog our progress, please follow along, and be a part of this collaborative
effort to move closer to a cure for this disease.

Won’t you join us our journey?

We are not Alone....We are All Connected to One Another

The fact that we exist within our physical bodies can cause us to feel separate, and sometimes even alone. The Truth is we are all connected on an energetic level. How many times have we thought about someone we haven't seen for awhile, and all of a sudden they show up or call? If we open our eyes, and our hearts, most often everything we need is right there in front of us. Even the things that we may find unpleasant are there to teach us something we need to know at that particular moment.

As we move through life it is important to tap in to the collective energy or consciousness around us. Our thoughts and feelings are incredibly powerful, and can effect all that we come into contact with. This is most empowering because when we come from a place of love, joy, gratitude and peace, we truly create that within ourselves and without.

So think and feel beyond the limits of your physical being, and open to the infinite possibilities that surround you, and await your creative energy. Become the co-creator of your Life.

Happiness in Now......Later is an Illusion

The world is exploding with new awareness and insight into the art of Being. Preoccupation with the past, and anguish over the future involves mental distraction that takes us from our true selves. So be present, enjoy now, and experience life the only way we can, one moment at a time.

Imagine being faced with a terminal illness, knowing at any time we could leave life on this physical plane as we know it. Do you think under those circumstances you would value each moment. Do you think under those circumstances you would relish every breath, raindrop, sun beam, hug, smile, and so on and so on. Here is the good news, you do not have to wait until you are at the end of life to be in Joy and Gratitude about your life. Start now. Reflect on all the things that you are joyful and grateful for and FEEL that joy and gratitude. Once you begin to experience your life from that perspective only more joy and gratitude can follow.

Turn off your mind, turn on your soul, and tune in to the loving Universe that surrounds you. Lots of Love............

Ride your Ride

Yesterday I had the scooter out for the first time this season. As I headed down the road the bike felt different, the back end was wobbly and it felt unstable. I wasn't sure what was happening. I got off the bike, and realized the back tire was soft. What to do? Head back home or try to make it to the nearby gas station to get some air? I decided to take my chances and head for the gas station. As I did, I reminded myself of the importance of staying calm. Instead of imagining all the things that could go wrong (like falling off the bike into traffic!) I held on to the vision that I would make it safely to the gas station and get the air I needed. And that is what happened. Later I reflected on the experience. It is so important in life not to panic. We can always find things to worry about, reasons to give up, excuses for not pursuing our goals. If we stay on the bike, have faith in our destination and the journey, we will always end up were we need to be. The important thing is to Ride your Ride.

So now I am better prepared for my big adventure, knowing that if there are bumps along the way, I will make it through, and will continue on the journey............Safe travels!!

The Beginning

All things are possible. The fact that I am here now typing this first blog entry is proof positive. What better a premise to begin the journey that is Dale Burnes Golinski? All ideas begin with inspiration, and this one is no exception. The idea? To ride a motor scooter from Amherst, New Hampshire to Atlanta, Georgia in July 2008. The inspiration? A wonderful woman, friend, and example of the strength and integrity of the human spirit. Dale Burnes Golinski lived life with passion and gratitude that continues to inspire. She was taken by an illness that has too many victims, which include those that have survived her; her husband, daughter, son, and all who loved her. So in the fight against this deadly disease, and to honor Dale's life as well as the lives of all who have fought this battle and continue to fight, we will journey as Trails for Dale, and raise money for breast cancer research. The recipient of the proceeds will be the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in New York.

We look forward to sharing our journey with you. Hop on, let's go.................
